THE PROCESS

1. Examination and assessment to decipher which type of veneer will work best for you or whether an alternative treatment would be better suited
2. Depending on the type chosen and the objectives of your treatment the dentist will design the new smile using his own artistic ability and facial aesthetic design, to ensure the smile fits with your facial features
3. Records and diagnostics are then taken and sent to the laboratory. This step is not necessary for immediate and prefabricated veneers
4. The veneers are hand crafted using a vast range of colours, textures, translucencies and strengths in the laboratory by a professional ceramist
5. The dentist then uses special adhesives to bond the dental veneers to your teeth

Natasha's Smile Makeover :THE PROCESS

WHAT IS THE AMOUNT OF TOOTH PREPARATION
When creating veneers for teeth the dentist “prepares” the teeth before taking any records. The term “preparation” signifies the amount of tooth cutting involved. Some types of treatments like Ultrathin veneers require no tooth cutting compared to the traditional veneer work where sometimes some preparation may be necessary. Sometimes "preparation" simply means roughening the surface to enable better bonding to occur with the adhesives. Depending on your teeth your dentist will discuss which type of veneers will be best suitable for you.

COMPOSITE VENEERS
Essentially there are three types of composite veneers that are available: Direct, Indirect and Prefabricated.

Direct Composite Veneers: these veneers are made of filled resins and have a “plastic” appearance. These are made in the surgery directly onto your teeth. It only takes a single appointment to cosmetically enhance your teeth with direct composite veneers. State of the are nano technology allows us to create beautiful veneers in a day

Indirect Composite Veneers: these are made in the laboratory. When they are sent to the laboratory harder plastics can be used to produce longer lasting hardened composite veneers. They look and feel similar to porcelain veneers and are bonded to your teeth on a separate appointment in a similar way

These veneers cannot be made as thin as porcelain, and so more damaging preparation is required on the tooth surface, unless compromises are made to the aesthetics to accomodate a thicker or bulkier tooth. Composite veneers will require touching up, or replacement within 3-5 years (this is case dependant).

Treatments we can offer in addition to veneers include

Whitening & cosmetic bonding
Adult orthodontics & Invisalign
Dental Implants & Bridges/Crowns/Onlays
White spot reduction & dental fillings
Facial aesthetics
Laser Dentistry
All general and hygiene maintenance dentistry
