TOOTH WHITENING

Is it safe?

Absolutely. No enamel surface is damaged at all and the materials used in the gels has been used for many years safely.

Will it hurt?

The process is generally painless. The teeth can feel sensitive during the process but this is easy to manage and it goes away after treatment.

How white will my teeth get?

Teeth can whiten up to 16 shades. Results vary, but if used correctly all teeth will whiten dramatically.
The great thing about the systems we use is that you can stop when you feel you are happy with the shade.

Will my crowns/fillings/veneers also become whiter?

No. If you would like to whiten your natural teeth beyond the shade of your restorations, they would need to be replaced following whitening to match. If you want to whiten your teeth to the same shade as your restorations, you can whiten until the natural teeth reach the same shade, and then stop.

How long does it take?

The trays take 2 weeks to be made, and the whitening process is a minimum of 14 days from this point. Individual treatment plans will be made with the dentist as every case is unique.

How long does it last?

It can last forever, if basic maintenance is followed. The dentist will explain these to you. The level of maintenance required will depend on how many staining foods/drinks one has within their diet.
